I decided to create this page because some amazing things that have happened this year. If you are sceptical about personal websites or public MSN identities then maybe you should read this.
I'm from a single parent family from Leicester, raised by my mum, and I'm an only child. Mum and dad separated when I was very young and I hadn't seen him since I was about nine, and I had seen very little of him before then so I never have got to know him. So my most immediate family that I knew was my mum and her mum. (My grandad died over ten years ago). From time to time I also see my uncles and aunts Geoff & Anna (with their baby Alex) and Howard & Jane (with their teenagers Craig and Kevin). I also occasionally see my aunt Lorraine ('Pin') who lives in Penzance.
I also knew that I had a brother and sister through my dad who I hadn't met since I was too young to remember.
That was until June this year when I was contacted on MSN Messenger by a girl called Laura claiming to be my niece. Unaware that I even had a niece I was a little suprised but when she told me that her parents were called Ian & Sharon Burton I realised she wasn't mistaken! Over the course of the week she told me all about the family I didn't know and through her encouragement I contacted my brother the following week. What a star!
Since then I have stayed with my brother Ian and his wife Sharon with their two gorgeous daughters Laura and Rachael, all of who made me feel like really special. Thanks loads!
I've also met my sister (also called Sharon) and her kids Scott and Zoe, as well as meeting my dad Keith, Ian's other brother Andrew, Sharon's (Ian's wife) parents, all of who I'm really looking forward to getting to know a lot more. So in the space of two weeks the family I know has more than doubled.
I could say all sorts of wonderful things about them but I wouldn't want to embarrass them!
